Learning at Bluestone

Our learning is divided into 2 broad areas.

• Literacy and Numeracy form our core curriculum
• Social Science,Science, Technology The Arts, Health and Physical Education form our integrated curriculum

There is a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy at all levels of the school. Oral Language, Reading, Written Language and Mathematics are taught as stand alone subjects but are also integrated into all other areas wherever possible. Younger students 'learn to read and write' and older students 'read and write to learn'. 
Our school day is broken into 4 sessions. The 3 morning sessions are devoted to our core curriculum.
The afternoon sessions are used for our integrated curriculum areas.

We have developed 'Enduring Understandings' for Science, Social Science, Technology and Health which are grouped under  broad concepts and these are delivered on a 3 year cycle.
